Historically inspired piece
Gzhel is a renowned style of traditional Russian ceramics, instantly recognizable by its vivid cobalt blue patterns painted on a snowy white background. Named after the village near Moscow where it originated, this craft has a rich history of pottery production dating back to the 17th century. The intricate, hand-painted designs typically feature lush floral motifs, geometric shapes, or charming scenes from Russian folklore.

Mask
wall hanging
Some person with no appreciation for art had the nerve to get rid of this little beauty!
Now it’ll never take its rightful place on the wall.
Tragic.

Unit 5

Bust

I tried to make him as realistic as possible, so I chose to leave him bald, since hair in my experiens rarely turns out realistisk. The hardest thing to make turned out to be ears. It was to mimic their shape. And my favorite thing to make was the nose. It si really fun to make noses! Overall, I really like this guy! He does look very much like the pithecanthopus from a history book (who is for unknown reasons wearing a sweater), but this is defiitely one of my favorite things that I made so far!
Name
Two more friends joined the project from the previous unit.
